JOE SATRIANI To Perform National Anthem At Oakland Raiders Vs. Tennessee Titans Game
November 14, 2013On November 24, the incomparable guitar aficionado Joe Satriani will perform the U.S. national anthem at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California prior to the Oakland Raiders vs Tennessee Titans football game, which kicks off at 1:05 PDT (4:05 ET).
Satriani played "Star-Spangled Banner" on July 21 at this year's Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Satriani played the track just prior to the three-day event's premier contest, the MotoGP World Championship race. Check out video footage of his appearance below.
Satriani has spent the last few months touring in support of his 14th studio album, "Unstoppable Momentum". Joining Satriani on the road were veteran bandmate Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) on keyboards, along with an entirely new rhythm section, featuring bassist Bryan Beller (DETHKLOK, Dweezil Zappa) and drummer Marco Minnemann (Adrian Belew, Steve Wilson).
"Unstoppable Momentum" was released on May 7. The CD debuted at No. 42 on The Billboard 200 chart, giving Satriani his highest chart position in over 20 years, and first single, "A Door Into Summer", landed in the Top 10 on the Classic Rock radio chart.
